6 minute Jammy Eggs

These ooey-gooey jammy eggs will adorn any dish with extra flair. And with a little bit of sweet soy tare? Mhmm mhmm. I like to keep marinated eggs in the fridge for a quick snack or even as a canapé topping on top of crackers. Simple, easy, and absolutely sexy.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • ½ cup chashu tare (You can substitute with ¼ cup soy, ¼ cup water, 1 tbsp sugar)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup sake

Get high quality free range brown eggs. I find these to have the most  orange yolks that makes these eggs look so appetizing!

Directions

Put the eggs in a pot with cold water.

Heat the pot on high.

Once the water starts to simmer, set a timer for 6 minutes.

After 6 minutes, turn the heat off and immediately shock them in cold water to prevent them from further cooking.

Peel carefully.

Place in an airtight container with the rest of the ingredients and let it marinate overnight.

Cut gently in half with a sharp knife or unwaxed/unflavored floss.
